Tres Belle

Hello again.
I spent two creative hours this afternoon, discovering the beautiful Belle and Boo papers from Trimcraft. I found it satisfying to layer up the decoupage toppers which came in a pad with the set from good old Create and Craft.
I am particularly proud of this card and I don’t think I will ever part with it!
Belle and Boo on a tricyle
Here are the details of how I created it:
Using a yellow and white polka dot 6″x6″ card I added a 5″x 5″ square of pink floral Belle and Boo paper.  I added a pre-embossed cream frame from Craftwork Cards
Then I decided to add rows of bunting as I wanted to mirror the bunting on the little girls trolley.  It was a scrap of the blue and white flower paper from the kit and a scrap of the backing paper. I die cut them both. The slightly larger hearts were then kept from the waste and I simply swapped them over. I found that by using red tape squares on the back of the hearts I could secure the bunting and add the alternate heart inside it.
As every crafter knows, want not waste not. In the waste from the bunting paper I used a flower hand punch to create miniature flowers. I added them with a dot of glue to give a feeling of movement on the topper.  My favourite peach pink pearl drops just finished the flower nicely
To bring a touch of yellow into the corners of the card I added yellow and white polka dot Candi to which I added gloss drops.   Candi comes in many colours and designs from Craftwork Cards – they say it’s like a brad without legs. I find it so useful to finish off a card especially as you can colour coordinate them. You simply attach them a mini square pad.
I enjoyed this set of papers and made a few more cards for friends and family who were equally smitten with the delightful Belle and Boo.
Much love

Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.

Hello All,
I decided today would be the day that I would try and add my thoughts to a blog. I’m hoping that the small things that I am trying to navigate my way around will eventually turn into something worth reading. So please bear with me !
The reason I want to try this is mainly to share my love of crafting with like minded people. When I say crafting I really mean paper card crafting.
I love creating cards for two reasons. Firstly it’s the process of choosing papers, a design and a colour, adding a feature and finishing off with a ribbon or two, pearl drops and candi.  Every one of my cards is different because when I’ve finished the first card another thought pops into my head !
Secondly there is nothing like sending someone some happy post and receiving a thank you or a message to say you’ve made their day.
Anyway, if I manage to tackle a series of small things together who knows what may happen.
Much love
