Hello again,

Today sees the launch of Christmas crafting on Create and Craft TV which to non crafters seems complete nonsense but those in the know realise that it takes time to create personal, handmade cards. We need the tools so that we can start Christmas 2021!

The first range that I have had the pleasure of working with are the fabulous Slimline 3D Embossing Folders from Lisa Horton Crafts.

These samples were made for the launch show on Create and Craft on Monday 7th June at 6pm. If there is stock available two more shows will air on Tuesday 8th June at 11.15am and 4.30pm.

Holly and Berries

This is the simplest of cards and sometimes simple works best – particularly when batch making cards for Christmas. Here I have teamed up a silver glitter card frame (using LHC Rectangle Scalloped and Nested Dies) with a white embossed panel (using the Holly and Berries Slimline Embossing Folder).

Traditional

Here the same embossing folder has been used with a slimline panel and a frame from the Festive Check Frame Die. More on that further down this post. The traditional green really enhances the holly and berries embossing and I highlighted various areas with a touch of gold gilding wax.

Emboss – Deboss

These mini slimline cards may work as a pair but look closely and you will see that the gold version is embossed and the rose gold version is de-bossed. De-bossing the mirri card means that you can add a Nuvo red drop inside the hollow of the berry. Leave plenty of time for it to dry though!

Banner Christmas Tree

The embossing folder has been used again. Firstly with a green triangle (another set of LHC Nested shaped dies) and a 6×6 panel for the base of the card. Simply place the folder side by side to emboss.

The banners have been placed in descending order of size from the bottom to the the top and the tree is finished off with a gold glitter card star.

Festive Banners

All today’s cards include a Festive Banner sentiment which are taken from the must have Festive Banner Stamp and Die set. Yes it is one stamp and one die making twelve sentiments at once! The stamp set works best in a stamping platform. I used WoW embossing ink and powder to heat emboss several sets at once. This type of crafting shortcut is just what is needed when batch making cards for Christmas.

Warm Winter Wishes

In my opinion the Festive Check Frame die is a must have for this Christmas card season. For this card the check has been cut in two shades of green which have been offset to create a tartan effect.

Fa la la la

Another pattern can be created by layering a red check panel on top of a white glitter card rectangle. Then paper piecing the red squares back in alongside the green squares from the check panel I used in the card above.

The bows are also in this versatile die set and make the perfect topper within the square.

Festive Hugs

The pink and blue may be non traditional colours for Christmas but add a touch of sparkle with silver glitter card. By mixing up the colours and paper piecing different parts you can create different designs. Also included in this design are the sweet Hearts of Happiness which add to the younger vibe of this card.

From Our House to Yours

This is a great sentiment to include because it doesn’t need to be for Christmas. This card is made up of combination of all the cards above because I used “the waste” from the other die cuts. Of all the check designs this one reminds me the most of tartan.

Just to prove a prove a point on how quickly you can make Christmas cards with these versatile products. I created all of these cards from scratch in under a day. If you batch make the Banner Sentiments, emboss panels with the Slimline 3D Folders and die cut the Festive Check Frame in different colours – you could make all of your Christmas cards in a few days and have the rest of the year off !
