Lisa Horton Crafts Launch

Hello again.

2020 began with exciting news! I was invited to be a part of a super talented design team for Lisa Horton Crafts. Many of you will know Lisa through her work with Creative Expressions and now she has stepped out on her own. I am thrilled to be a part of Lisa’s new journey.

Before Lisa’s first show on Create and Craft TV (on the 20th January): I was lucky to receive some brand new products to play with.

Today I should like to share a few of the samples I made for Lisa’s first shows using the Daisy Burst stamps and cutting dies.

Card 1 – Daisy Burst Wreath

I began by stamping and die cutting several flowers in pale yellow. Then (using a stamping platform) I stamped a circle of daisies in pale blue. Next I stamped a sentiment using the very useful Ticker Phrases stamps. To complete the card, I placed the yellow cut out daises in between the blue stamped out daisies and added a co-ordinating pearls. The wreath was then mounted on the new Bali papers and yes I did gut the centre!

Just Saying – Ticker Phrases

Here is a close of the shimmering pearls which come in a range of co-ordinating colours.

Card 2 Daisy Burst Flourish Stamp.

Within the Daisy Burst stamp set is a sizeable flourish stamp. I stamped it out 3 times (using black Versafine Clair ink) before framing a chosen part of the image. This was die cut using a square. All three squares were then mounted up onto a vibrant green strip of paper, then a black strip and stuck onto the card blank along with a Ticker Phrases sentiment.

Look how well the stamps print out. 🙂

Card 3 Retro Gatefold.

I love using rich orange and black together. I think it reminds me of my childhood in the 1970s.

I am going to show you the inside of this gatefold card first which is stamped using the Daisy Burst flourish stamp (as seen above) with orange ink. Next I used the individual Daisy Burst stamps to stamp over the flourish with black ink. A Ticker Tape Phrase sentiment was then added to complete the card.

Next I pulled out one of the funky new stencils to play with. This design is called : Pennies in a Link – and I created my own background paper, by simply stencilling and stamping. I wanted the design to be bold so I sponged on two layers of the orange ink before taking one of the smallest daisy stamps and individually stamping each circle using black ink. It was worth it because I love the effect. This background sheet was then cut down to cover either side of the gatefold card.

To create the wrap around I die cut the Daisy Burst flourish die out twice (side by side) and inked it up with the same orange ink. Finally I adhered it to a long black strip which I carefully wrapped around the gatefold card before completing it all with one final Ticker Tape Phrase sentiment stamp.

By the time you read this post, Lisa’s new products will have launched and you will have seen the whole range. I really hope you enjoy creating with everything and don’t forget to share your makes on Lisa’s Facebook group. ” Crafting with Lisa Horton”.

Strawberry Moon Nature Box 02

Hello again

Sue Taylor is launching her next Nature Box on the 10th January 2020.  “Hello Winter” includes printed shimmer papers and vellums – featuring beautiful moon imagery, night skies, delicate florals and wildlife. Plus glitter papers, twine, flowers, crystals and pearls.  It really is a great set to begin the new year with.

I was lucky enough to have the chance of playing with some of the papers and vellums.  Most of the stamps and embellishments are my own but you can see how well the Strawberry Moon collections work with your existing craft items.

This card was made simply by cutting down one of the printed shimmer papers, and stamping Hello from the additional stamp set.  I then punched out some mini stars from the pale blue glitter card.

This time I used one of the Strawberry Moon stamps from Christmas and heat embossed it onto the stunning heart imagery.

STRAWBERRY MOON BELIEVE IN THE MAGIC WINTER

The glitter card in the Nature Box comes in a beautiful range of colours including this pastel pink and blue.  It is easy to die cut which is how I used it here.  I die cut two wreaths using the Craftwork Cards Celestial Circle die cut (available from Craft Stash) and layered them up onto each other.  Next, I die cut more stars and arranged them around the outside before using my Tonic sentiment die to cut out “Believe”

STRAWBERRY MOON GLITTER WREATH

Also included in your box are some versatile vellums.  I die cut a square from the centre of this card and placed the vellum behind the aperature.  Next I picked one of the papers of the night sky and stuck it inside the card.  Then I created a frame using the silver glitter card and finished it off with some flowers made from the shimmer paper.

STRAWBERRY MOON WHITE ORB

My final project was made from one sheet of paper.  I will try and write up a tutorial soon but for now I wll leave with an image of the hare.  Inside, I have created a book of days using a mini paper calendar and a few of the “Hello Winter” papers and vellum.

Polar Playime

Hello again,

Craft Consortium have released another Helz Cuppleditch collection – called Polar Playime.  It will be a great set for winter birthdays, party invitations and much more.  The colour palette is fresh and uplifting and the characters are unbelievably cute.

Let me begin by sharing a set of cards with a matching box that I created using the stunning 12″ x 12″ papers.

Next, I played with the high quality  – Polar Playtime stamps.   They are very easy to stamp and colour.  I decided to make the characters different colours.

On this card I used everyday colouring pencils.  I then cut the two hats from the papers and set them on the coloured image.  The fab little fishes are actually in the additional 3D decoupage set which is really useful.

I finished the card off with the co-ordiating enamel dot embellishments.

This card was also stamped and coloured but this time I used the Make a Splash stamp set with colouring pencils and pens.

I used two sizes of circle dies to create a frame for the fish.  Next I used one side of the paper inside the frame and the reverse for the backing square.  The seal cub is actually part of the 3D decoupage sets but because I used them as separate pieces, my collection could go much further. 😉
