“Create the life you love”

Hello again.

I am absolutely thrilled to have been invited to join the Craft Consortium’s Design Team. I love working with their products, particularly the papers designed by Hackney and Co.

Katy Hackney’s latest collection – The Herbarium is another beauty. I have enjoyed making cards (more on them another time ) and this keepsake book.

I constructed the keepsake book itself with the help of my Tonic Keepsake Insert Creator cutting dies. Today though, I am focusing on the pages themselves.

The papers and the non-shedding glitter card die-cut perfectly and work beautifully as backgrounds on each page.

I heat embossed the versatile stamps within The  Herbarium collection, before layering them up onto the pages.

I also incorporated a previous collection – The Riverbank into this memory book. Everything works so well together. I stamped and coloured in two sets of the lily pads, layered them up together and finished the page with a Sizzix –  Tim Holtz geometric insect.

At this stage I got a bit carried away because I wanted to use every single page within The Herbarium paper pad. They match brilliantly together. As well as stamping onto the pages I die cut them to personalise the tags.

I hope you enjoyed looking through my keepsake book as much as I enjoyed making it. The quote on the front cover pretty much explains my life at the moment.

Until next time.  Happy crafting

Beautiful cards

Hello again

Usually I include the name of the style of card that I am sharing. However these cards are called Bellybands and I don’t think that is a nice name at all. So I shall simply explain them as wrap around cards.

These new Craftwork Cards cutting dies were first shown on Hochanda but are now available from Craftstash UK.

The first die is shaped like a pendant. There are two smaller ovals that can be used to bring the back of the strip together if necessary.

The second heart shaped centre works well with gate-fold cards

The third floral die is my favourite because you can snip into it to use the flowers as embellishments. I coloured this one with kuretake pens.

I matched it up with the previously released Beauty cutting die and the newly launched Elegance stamps.

If you place the envelope with the card before you measure the wrap around it you can use the die on all sizes of cards or boxes.

I am sure that you can now see that these new dies are far prettier than the name “Bellybands” sounds.

Until next time.

Much love x Elisabeth x
