Christmas Wishes

Hello again,

Before I close the Christmas card making workshop for anothe year, I would like to share three cards that I made using the stunning scrapbook pages from Stamperia.  I am not going to go into great detail on how these are made but suffice to say – I thoroughly enjoyed myself making them.  The Christmas carols were playing in the background.  I had a little glass of ginger wine on the table beside me and I was in my happy place.

I hope you all find a moment of peace and joy to craft soon.

Until next time (in 2020)

Lisa Horton Stamps

Hello again

I have long indulged in building up my collection of Lisa Horton stamps and cutting dies, and this year I found a fabulous festive set called Winter Silhouette Circles which I matched up with the matching cutting dies and my favourite Sizzix cutting dies and glitter card.

I began this range of cards by stamping all the circles onto a piece of backing paper with script on.  I also cut out a Ho Ho Ho from red glitter card.  To construct the card I stamped a corner stamp from L’Encre et l’image in pale grey ink.  I also stamped a date stamp in the centre of the snowflake image.  It was then a matter of laying out the two circular images alongside each other and embellishing it with a few sequins.  This ended up being one of my favourite 2019 designs.

The next three cards use the same techniques but with diffferent images and ink colours.

Strawberry Moon – Believe in the Magic

Hello again,

Today I would like to share a sweet set of stamps that are available to buy from Strawberry Moon by Sue Taylor.  I found them really useful to make clean, simple and quick Christmas cards, which is what you need at this time of year!

I used the sentiment “Believe in the Magic” many times this year but here I matched it with the leaping hare.

The hot chocolate mug was so inviting that I stamped it four times!

This is classic clean and simple.  I hope Sue Taylor brings out a few more stamps with a large letter on because I find this set really useful.

Stamped Festive Cards

Hello again.

I am now at the point where I am making my own Christmas cards to send my friends.  I was particularly drawn to two new brands this year, namely Studio Light (based in the Netherlands) and L’Encre et l image (based in France).

I had a wonderfully creative and relaxing afternoon in my craft space and made several cards.  Here are two of my favourites.

Before stamping the magnificent stag onto this card; I used a mask to add layers of blue ink to the background.  Then I laid down another circular stencil on top and added more layers of ink using the mask again. I used first and second generation stamping on the trees before finally committing the stag to the scene.  This is my favourite Christmas card design of 2019.

Stamps used from Studio Lights, and Woodware.  Masks and stencils from Clarity.  Inks from Tim Holtz Distress Oxides range.

This card began with the mask and inking technique (mentioned above)  and I then laid this beautiful stamp (from L’Encre et l image) down on it using black Versafine Clair ink.
