A WOODLAND WALK INTO 2021

Hello again

I hope you were able to celebrate the Christmas season in some form of another and like me are looking forward to 2021.

Allow me to take you on a little Woodland walk through the new paper collection from Craft Consortium which once again has been designed by Clare Therese Gray. This collection comprises of stamps, papers and embellishments. I began by stamping out all the beautifully stamped images including a pheasant, deer, badgers, birds and woodland foliage. I then played around with the different coloured palettes and paper patterns to construct a set of cards reminiscent of woodland walks. Let us hope we will be able to go and about more safely in 2021.

Stay safe, keep well and Happy New Year.

WOW just WOW

Hello again,

Every now and then a crafting product comes along that just blows everything else out of the water. This is the case with the 3D Embossing Folders from Lisa Horton Crafts. They literally make you say WOW aloud. Even with a piece of plain white card stock the end results are phenomenal. Here are just a few of the card samples I made for the launch shows on Create and Craft. I have included a few affiliate links to create and craft if you wish to buy them otherwise it is a matter of signing up to an email alert because they sell out as soon as they become available.

To create this simple yet luxurious cards I simply die cut white card layers and silver card layers using Lisa Horton’s Nested Scalloped and Plain Square dies. Then I ran the white layer through the embossing folder with the top cutting plate of the Big Shot Cutting Machine. Please do check with the machine instructions and work carefully on your first attempt. These folders are thick so be careful while you work out the best combination for your machine. I finished off the cards with my favourite products of 2020 the Double Layered Sentiments Stamps and Dies which I heat embossed with silver WOW embossing powder.

CHRISTMAS CARDS WITH CRAFT CONSORTIUM

Hello again,

I made these cards in the autumnal days of 2020 however it just seemed wrong to be sharing them with you then.

I worked on both of the Christmas Collections from Craft Consortium. Both of them are stunning.

The first “Noel”, has been illustrated by Clare Therese Gray and is full of nostalic, almost Victoriana images including angels, floral wreaths and then out of the blue a classic VW Beetle!

The second “Nativity” has been illustrated by Helz Cuppleditch and features the sweetest Nativity scenes reminiscent of children’s school plays.

Personally, I love them both and would happily make cards with all of the collections. The choice is yours.

I will show you a few cards from Noel first. These include the stamps from the set which I really enjoyed colouring in before layering them onto the stunning pale blue 12×12 papers.

Moving onto the Nativity….

I really love the topper and banner pages in the 12×12 paper pads because they allow you to create scenes. I added depth to my cards by incorporating the Dienamix cutting dies which are also from Craft Consortium.

I think you will agree that both collections are wonderful and will make brilliant Christmas cards and projects.
