MAKE IT A EUPHORIA CHRISTMAS

Hello again

I am going to be sharing a few Christmas card ideas with you today. The shopping list for all of the products will be at the end of the blog.

Firstly, let me show you a few cards made for Lisa Horton Crafts shows on the 11th August 2021 on Create and Craft TV. The main feature was Boxset Number 2 however a particular DL stamp caused quite a stir too.

So Festive – Blue

“So Festive” is a slimline stamp with seasonal wording. I used it with Tim Holtz Distress embossing glaze in Speckled Egg.

I then layered up the embossed page using the Festive Check Slimline die set – which is another must have for 2021 Christmas cards.

So Festive – Lime Green

Here are the same products used with a Lime Green embossing powder. I think it makes a funky card suitable for a younger person.

So Festive – Pastel

This time I used white embossing powder with the So Festive stamp. I left it to cool down before adding Distress Oxides in various shades with blending brushes. To create a clean look, take a soft cloth and buff up the letters which cleans the inks away.

Sketchy Poinsettia

Also featured on the show were the Sketchy Poinsettia stamps and dies. Here I teamed them up with Rose Gold Mirri Card but can you imagine trying this style with the brand new Euphoria Sparkling Glitter card stock?

The next set of cards will feature in the Create and Craft shows on Friday 27th August at 12.45pm and Saturday 28th August at 9am/12.45pm/5.15pm (UK time)

Baby It’s Cold Outside

The Large Snowflake dies are exactly that – LARGE! The largest die measures 145mmx130mm. Team them up with the new Euphoria Premium Glitter cardstock and you have a match made in crafting heaven !

To make this diamond fold card I embossed square panels using the Slimline 3d Snowflake Embossing Folder, I cut the snowflakes out in shades of pink,blue card plus silver, white glitter card stock. Then i layered them up in different combinations.

Joy

This card is made with square panel front of embossed vellum (using the same folder as above).

Then I layered up various shades and sizes of snowflakes onto the vellum. To give the card stability I adhered it to a plain white card blank.

Warm WInter Wishes

The snowflake on this card was made with the “waste” from the other cards. Keep every scrap of the precious glitter card stock because you will use it.

I created another embossed panel using the So Festive stamps which goes to show how everything in the Lisa Horton Crafts range works together.

The sentiment is taken from the Snowflakes Sentiments stamp and die set.

Season’s Greetings

This card features the equally stunning Large Poinsettia die set. It is easy to create realistic flowers that layer up to form beautiful flowers – not just poinsettias. Here I have added gold gilding wax to red American Crafts Cardstock.

50th Birthday

These dies are not specifically for Christmas. Change the colour way and the sentiment and you have a glamorous card for a special occasion.

Believe in the Magic

The final die set to talk about is the Nested Stitched Bubble Squares. It is a perfect set to build up the frames and layers of your 8×8 / 6×6/4×4 cards because you have the bubble frames plus the double layers of mats.

On this card I die cut a mat from the Euphoria Glitter card. Then embossed it. It made a beautiful backdrop to the white glitter Poinsettia.

Joy and Peace

Last but not least I die cut the largest bubble frame and added it (with two co-ordinating layers) to a 8×8 black card blank.

Then I created a matching snowflake and added a snowflake sentiment to the smallest of the bubble frames.

In my personal opinion, this range of dies, stamps, glitter card-stock and embellishments pretty much covers Christmas card-making 2021.

HOLLY HOBBIE – FIRST ANNIVERSARY

Hello again

Holly Hobbie is celebrating her first anniversary of launching on Create and Craft with a brand new Capsule Collection on USB. Many of you will remember the berry red “Holiday Joy” and now you can use those images with added extras. Furthermore the USB features the teal tones of Holiday Memories. Both sets work together and many of the background paper designs can be used for other occasions.

Today, this blog will focus on the Holiday Memories card samples I created for the shows on Create and Craft.

Iconic Images

This is the way that many of us remember Holly Hobbie. The oversized bonnet and the patchwork dresses. Can you see how the patterned paper co-ordinates with the topper?

Modern Twist

Here the traditional image of Holly Hobbie has been updated simply by changing the colours to teals and raspberry red.

Z-fold card

In this card you can see the papers, the ribbons and the various toppers that can be found in Holiday Memories. I have teamed everything up with silver mirri card which really pulls the z-fold card together.

Bay window card

The Bay Window card shape is another one that works with the designs within this collection. It is great to be able to print off the individual elements and then match them up together.

Twisted Corner Easel Card

This is such a simple card to make and really highlights the beautiful toppers within Holiday Memories. I matched the subtle cream papers with rich gold mirri card and it made a very classy card.

Circular Rocker Card

The green and red combination within this card design are very traditional and they make such a festive card to send.

Stamped Sentiments

I predict that the stamped sentiments also featured on the shows on the 25th August will be very popular because they match the card designs perfectly. Here I have stamped them in festive reds and greens. Then layered them onto mirri card. They are the perfect finishing touch.

You Brighten My Day

This is a classic Hobby House card. Simply take a floral mat and match it with a topper.

The die and the sentiment are my own which just goes to show how easily you can intersperse Hobby House papers with your current stash.

Summer Mist

Not only can you create quick and pretty cards with the Wild Rose papers and toppers – you can create co-ordinating gift boxes with the FREE Summer Mist Gift Box set. These useful boxes come in two styles and four colours ( pale/medium green and pale/medium pink)

Love and Best Wishes

Everything co-ordinates in this collection. For this card I simply matted and layered the paper and a postcard. The matched a topper and a sentiment. These kits are suitable for all abilities.

Get well

This card was made with one single 6×6 card mat. I simply cut an oval into the centre and added a trellis frame die cut. If you look carefully at the matching box – you will see that I embossed the sides. There are enough boxes that you can cut into them and emboss the panels before adding them to the original box.

Pinwheel

My last set includes a Pinwheel card which seem to be very popular at the moment. All you need are four of the postcards to add to the sides. I must also mention the classic black and white sentiment strips included in this collection which really finish the cards and boxes off. They are not your everyday sentiments either.
