EXCITING NEWS!

Hello again.

I am delighted to say that I have been asked onto The Hobby House Design Team !

Here is the first set of cards that I was asked to work on using the pretty Summer Posy Collection. Like all Hobby House kits, they are a joy to work with because all the colour combinations and paper designs have been worked out for you.

First. I created two circular cards.

I layered one of the circular toppers up, using some of my shaped dies. The pearlised card cuts and embosses beautifully. I edged it with some white pearls and a pale pink ribbon.

The sheets of pretty flower papers are great for making your own flowers with. I also used the grey pearlised card for flower making. To add a bit of interest I embossed them too. I finished off each bloom with a matching pink pearl.

Next I moved onto some 6″ by 6″ cards. This card shows, how well the different papers and cards work together. Once again I embossed the small piece of pale pink card just to add a bit more interest.

As well as papers and gems you also get an array of coordinating ribbons.

For this card I cut down a sheet of card to give me a corner design. Then I cut out two tags and fitted the bottom pink one into the pattern. I used a craft knife to cut a small slit around the edge of the petal.

in the pack there are a wide variety of gems and the larger flower shaped ones finish off a card. This time, I used the de-bossed side on the grey card.

I became a little bit addicted to punching out mini flowers from the floral card-stock. This card is literally made from the scraps that were left over. I think it makes a cute 5″ by 5″ card.

Next. I moved onto 5″ by 7″ cards.

The background cards make an instant background and allow you to make a simple card by popping on a co-ordinating topper. Naturally I had to frame the topper with a few more mini flowers.

A ‘thinking of you’ card doesn’t necessarily have to be to express sympathy. The mix of grey and pink works so well on this card and I am very proud of my bow making too !

I had a few background cards which just needed to be put together. I layered this down in strips to create a waterfall style card. I’m going to save this card for someone special ❤️

I hope you have enjoyed browsing through my DT debut.

Until next time.

Mellow mists and fruitfulness 🍁

Hello again.

The Hobby House are well known for the quality of their paper collections. I was lucky enough to be given a set, as a gift, and what a lovely set – Autumn Blessings is.

The background cards co-ordinate beautifully with the toppers. I couldn’t resist punching out some mini flowers to edge the sentiment.

More matching papers with toppers. This time I created a larger flower (or two 😜)

These images are perfect for the changing seasons and all the papers work so well together.

I began this card by stencilling a side panel before layering up a strip of paper. I then created two tags which are raised up with sticky pads. A few flowers, pearls and a ribbon complete the look.

Another style of tag card. This time I created a pouch to pop a tag into. The tag could then be used for a present and or a gift card could be popped into the pouch.

My final card is a bit more dramatic. There is some glorious deep red card-stock which is glorious to die cut with. It makes the perfect back drop for a topper, set off with a beautiful ribbon and a scattering of pearls.

As you can see – Autumn Blessings is a lovely set of papers, toppers and embellishments to work with. Happy crafting until next time.
