Teepee Cards

Hello again.

Christmas is only a month away so I thought I would show you how I made a few stand out cards.  To show you how I made this card I ended up filming a video which eventually meant me setting up my own You Tube site.  I am on a steep learning curve but personally I think that is a good thing.

Here is the very first short film that I made:

Using this method, I made the following cards with one of my favourite paper collections from Craftwork Cards – Venetian,

Before finishing off with this one that ended up being a giveaway on my Facebook page.  It also won the Sizzix Christmas Card Challenge on Facebook which was a great surprise.   The mini dies are fabulous to work with and I can see me use them for many more years to come.

Splash Crafts – Pets

Hello again.

Splash Crafts recently launched a PETS USB and I was lucky enough to have the chance to play with it.  There are hundreds of images to work with which would be suitable for all age groups.

You can check out all the cards I made on my Pinterest board but here on my blog I am going to focus on a few cards which I particularly enjoyed making.

First up is this exuberant Westie.  I began with a gatefold card and folded back each of the side panels.  I then measured a 1″ width strip which was the length of the entire base card.  This was then stuck at the edges.  It is was simply a matter of matting and layering the co-ordinating papers to the base card.

My second was a large 6″ x 8″ card which I felt needed breaking up so I printed off three different papers that looked like they had texture.  The hay in particular was very realistic.  I matted and layered each paper onto brown paper before setting out on the card base.  I think they suited the topper and I was rather pleased with the wording.  Dad was punched out of kraft card and each letter was stamped on top.

The final card took a little longer to construct.  Once again it started off with two gatefold cards.  If anyone is interested I can write up a separate tutorial.  I liked the patterns on the background papers and I think this smart card shows them off perfectly.
