This One’s for the Boys

Hello all

This is the time of year when I think of my Pa.  As well as Father’s Day we would be celebrating his birthday on the 26th June.   Invariably Father’s Day would be the weekend before his birthday and every year without fail, when we offered him our cards and presents, he would look at us with surprise and say ‘why are you giving me these?  It’s my birthday next week!’   It soon became a family joke…

This range of smart and stylish papers are from the Craftwork Cards ‘Take it Easy’ range. I think the mix of navy blue and burnt orange work so well together  I also like using Kraft paper for male cards as I think it makes a subtle background.   The tag on this card was hand stamped from a tag pack I discovered from Chocolate Baroque.

This card goes to show that these papers work well for more feminine cards. That’s not to say that men don’t like receiving flowers on cards too.  These zentangle style flowers are actually paper toppers that I popped into my basket whilst shopping in The Works. I then added good old pearl drops to make them pop !

I think my Pa would approve !
