BUILD A WREATH COLLECTION

Hello again,

This is the perfect time of year to be creating wreaths.  They make beautiful cards and personal gifts for Mothering Sunday and Easter.  With this in mind,  Craftwork Cards launched the Build a Wreath collection and I was lucky enough to make some samples for their launch show on Hochanda.

I started off by inking through the stencils that come as an added extra within the build a wreath template.  I inked through the first ring of butterflies and then turned the stencil a quarter of a turn before inking again.

By using two ink shades you can achieve a good shadow effect.

The second stencil within the kit depicts a pretty wreath of flowers.  After lightly stencilling with ink I decided to add clear embossing powder to create a glossy raised effect.  To create the background I stamped using the Botanique flower stamps (in the same colour ink)

This time I used the stencil with some brush colour pens and coloured through it.  I know its a bit unusual to create a card with these colours but I really like how it turned out.  Craftwork Cards have brought back the gold foiled sentiments.  This one made the perfect centre piece.  I coloured it with my oxide inks to match the colour scheme of the main card.

Next I used the Build- a- Wreath template which works brilliantly with a stamping platform.  I will try and show you a more in depth tutorial of this at a later date.  In a nutshell you are keeping the stamp in place on the platform and moving your cardstock within the template.  Keep working around the card and then you end up with a wreath.   I used the Botanique stamps again in this card.

Finally I couldn’t resist using the cutting dies to make two wreaths.  The first one is created with the Violet Tea Papers.

The second one is created with the Botanique Papers.  If you would like the chance of winning this particular wreath to give as a gift on Mothering Sunday then head over to my Facebook Page Elisabeth Hogarth Designs to enter my FREE GIVEAWAY.
